Contour Machine is a software plug in that explores the relationship between digital color and geometry in architectural form making. Architecture as I know it typically focuses on generating form, with color following as an afterthought. Contour Machine is structured to do the opposite and takes color as it is understood digitally to be the primary factor in developing form rather than an afterthought. The project begins with the most elemental form of color on a screen: RGB color space. In this color model colors are compressed against each other into a three-dimensional cube, and we are only able to experience it from a surface level. Contour Machine allows you to enter the in between spaces created from the transformation of a RGB cube.
